Luke's Baptism

Luke was baptized today at Assumption Catholic Church. His godparents were my sister, Jessi, and Matt's brother, David. He is very lucky to have these two as his godparents!

Luke barely made a peep during the baptism. We went to noon mass first and then the baptism started about 10-15 minutes after mass got out. Luke was fast asleep when it started. Father Joe had done Cole's baptism but Father Ron performed Luke's today so it was different than it had been three years ago for Cole. There were 7 or 8 babies that got baptized today along with Luke.

At our church they have a large baptismal font at the front of the church. So, when they get to the actual baptizing portion of the ceremony the babies all get stripped down to just a swim diaper. Then they dip the back half of their bodies in the water. It was nice and warm today for the babies. Luke didn't even flinch when he got dipped in the water. Then its back to their outfits.

I was suppose to get a white outfit but was unsucessful in finding one. So Luke was in a cream and navy stripped outfit. I thought he looked very cute in it!

Cole did pretty well during the baptism ceremony as well. He sat with my Mom most of the time and went up by the baptismal font with Granny to watch. He also came up on the alter with us for the last part of the ceremony.

Then we had everyone back to our house to celebrate. We had a beautiful day weather wise! We had bought a new umbrella for the deck this morning to give some shade when sitting on the neck deck furniture. There wasn't much sun today but the umbrella looks really nice. It finishes off the space. It did help shield from the little bit of rain that we had this afternoon.

My cousin, Stephanie, took some pictures for us at the baptism so when I get those from her I'll post some pictures. Her camera is way better than mine and she has a super fancy lens that she used so I'm sure she got some great pictures! Thanks Steph!!

We were really happy to have most of our family witness this special event for Luke!
