We went to the Bronz Zoo yesterday and had a great time! The weather was perfect and there was tons of shade at the zoo so it was great day to walk around. It is a very large zoo and the animals are fairly spread out so we did a lot of walking.
We saw a Polar Bear (although Cole was sleeping the first time we saw him which was too bad b/c he was playing in the water and it was really cute!)which was nice since the St. Louis zoo no longer has any. They have a gorilla forest with tons of gorillas that we got to see, it was very cool! We took a monorail ride as our last event at the zoo and got to see many animals - elephants, all kinds of deer, rhinoceros and more! It was my kind of way to see the animals! They have a bug carousel that Cole and I rode. We went in the butterfly garden and it was really nice because there were butterflies flying around everywhere! Way more than in the butterfly house at the zoo at home. We got to see zebras, a snow leopard and lots more!
We also got tons of exercise since as I said earlier the zoo is very large and spread out. There are animal exhibits all around as you walk so that is nice. Tons of trees on the property so you are almost always in shade!
In order to get to the Bronx from my Dad's place in Manhattan we first took a bus to Grand Central Station (which was our first time there) and then took the subway to the Bronx. Then it was only a few blocks walk to the zoo. We came home the same way as well. Both boys did excellent on the transport to and from the zoo.
We went to dinner last night at the ESPN Zone. It is right by Times Square. Luke slept through the entire thing. Cole did really well at dinner which pleased us all since by that time of night it had been a long day for him. Then we went out and took some pictures at Times Square. I'll post some pictures when we get home.
Not sure exactly what we are going to do today. Cole and my Dad just left to walk to Dunkin Doughnuts to get some doughnuts for breakfast. So we'll see what they want to do when they get back.
