We celebrated Luke turning one this past Saturday (1-30) with family. We had a great time hanging out at our house eating yummy snacks and visiting with everyone. We had a surprise guest - Jessi - at the party!! She flew in from NYC to help us celebrate. No one knew that she was coming in town!! We did miss my Dad and Sue who were unable to come in from NYC and we look forward to having them join us next year.
Luke got a lot of great presents - toys, clothes, books, a great new bath towel made by Grandma Bange and an awesome car to ride in. He loved the new car! Now it just needs to get warm outside so we can take him for some rides.
My Mom made an AMAZING octopus cake to go with the under the sea theme of the party. Luke is a BIG fan of sweets and was all about eating his cupcake we gave him! My Mom wanted to let him dive into the octopus cake but I wasn't a fan of that. We settled on just taking a picture or two with him and the cake. If she would have had it her way he would have been able to go to town on the cake.
