We had our first Halloween party at our house yesterday! It was tons of fun! Cole had a great time and loved preparing for "his" party. We invited all of his cousins, some neighbors and some other friends we know. Lots of little kids at the party!
There were lots of fun Halloween activities they could do - painting pumpkins, decorating pumpkin sugar cookies, arts & crafts and making candy necklaces. We had lots of great food and amazing Halloween desserts - thanks to my Mom!
There was an enourmous pumpkin pinata for all the kids to take a swing at that we did in the garage. This pinata was huge and after awhile I was thinking that it could take a bit before it broke. We didn't even do a blindfold or move it up and down! Most of the kids taking a turn at the pinata were 6 and under but a few older ones. Jacob (Cole's cousin) and Xavier (my friend from work's little boy) really nailed the pinata and my neice, Caitie - she was all about trying to get it down! Fianlly it was just too heavey and too much beating that it broke. Then matt had to pick it up and dump all the candy out of it since it only broke in half and the candy didn't really go anywhere.
It was great to see all the kids running around and playing! I just love Halloween and so enjoy seeing the kids all excited and happy!
