Luke turned 5 months old on Friday!! He has turned into such an amazing little guy these past five months! We are so blessed to have him as apart of our family. Here's an update on where Luke is at during this stage.
He has progressed into a wonderful sleeper! He's always been a good sleeper but now is even better. He has started to sleep in until about 7am and sometimes as late as 8:15am! I love that my kids take after me when it comes to sleeping - go to bed early and still have the ability to sleep in. He usually goes to bed between 7-8pm on most nights. He has gotten on to more of a regular nap schedule in the past month - a morning nap about 1 and 1/2 to two hours after he wakes up and then naps for an hour and a half and then a longer nap in the afternoon. Sometimes he will also take little cat naps in between. He goes down for his naps with little effort on my part. Sometimes I can just lay him down with his passy, put on a little music and he falls a sleep on his own. Other times all it takes is a few minutes of rocking and a little patting on the butt and he's out!
As for eating he is still eating 6oz. bottles every three hours so that's usually 5 bottles a day. We have not introduced any other food into his diet yet since he does so well with just the bottle. We'll probably introduce cereal into his diet sometime towards the end of July when he's 6 months old. For now its just easier to stick with just the bottle.
Activity wise he has become quite skilled at rolling over since he started about 2 weeks ago. He goes from his back to his stomach almost anytime that you put him on the floor. He has yet to figure out how to get back over to his back but I'm sure that will come one of these days. Since spending more time on his stomach he is doing a great job of holding his head up for a really long time! He has also started to push up on his arms and really get his chest off of the ground. We have started working on sitting up with Luke so he can work on doing it on his own in the next month or so. We have also started putting him in his exersaucer a little bit but he doesn't seem too thrilled with it just yet.
Luke is developing such a wonderful personality over these past five months. He has the biggest smile and a beautiful laugh. One of my favorite things to watch is when Cole interacts with him. He doesn't respond to anyone else the way he responds to his big brother! If Cole is in the room talking or moving around Luke will turn and look at him and just stare. If he's upset all it takes is for Cole to go over and talk to him and he's immediately happy. It is such a wonderful relationship they have developed.
