Welcome to the World - Ella Elizabeth Bange!!

On Tuesday, February 5th we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Ella Elizabeth, into this world!  After 9 months of waiting we were so pleased to have her join our family.  We went into the hospital around 10pm on Monday evening to start the induction process.  Most of the process went smoothly although during part of the labor her heart rate kept going down and that was not a good thing.  We experienced much of the same things when Cole was born.  Ella's heart rate would go down and all of a sudden our nurse was in the room followed shortly by a few other people.  They'd have me move positions to see if we could get it back up.  They put an internal monitor on her head at one point so they could monitor her a little more closely and accurately.  Later they also put an internal montior in to track my contractions more accurately to see how they affected her heart rate.  They also added some fluid to see if that would help her.  Luckly no one ever mentioned the possibility of a c-section but you always know it is on their minds if things didn't improve.  Luckly, they did and she arrived safely!  She had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice so that was what was causing heart rate to go down at times.

 

Ella Elizabeth Bange was born at 3:54pm weighing in at 7 pounds and 19.5 inches long.  Her head circumfrance was 13 inches.  When I first saw her she looked so small.  Once again I thought we might have a baby with little hair (Luke was the same way) as she didn't have much on the top of her head but turn her around and there it was!

We took a picture of Ella's hair shortly after she had her first sponge bath and was all cleaned up.  Definetly a lot more red the first day than it is now.  We were sure we'd gotten a red headed little girl when she was first born but as the first few days have gone by we're not so sure any more.  She definetly has more red in her hair than either of the boys but unless something changes she won't have my color red hair.

We are just amazed with this little girl and can not believe how fortunate we are to have her in our lives and a part of our family.
