Luke - 11 Months Old

Luke turned 11 months old on Saturday!! So crazy that in one short month he will already be a year old - time sure does go by fast. I keep thinking that a year ago this time last year I was miserable as it got closer to his due date and happy at the same time that I was off of work until August. This year I'm much more comfortable but it would be nice to not have to go to work until August again.

Luke has turned in to quite the little chatter box lately. Also making some sort of noises, especially when he gets excited or happy. I'm pretty sure he knows who I am as any time he wants me he says "Ma, Ma, Ma." He is definitely a mamas boy, at least most of the time. No walking on his own just yet but as long as he can hold on to something he can move all about. He's really good at walking when you are holding on to his hands and can get around even just holding on to one finger. We'll see how it goes over the next month with walking.

He is really starting to play with all of his toys now rather than just beating on them. Which is good since he got several new toys for Christmas. He is still eating 6oz bottles every 3 hours, but usually doesn't drink the whole bottle. Matthew and I are definitely looking forward to switching from formula to whole milk since it will be so much less expensive! We've been trying to introduce more and more table food to him lately. He eats a jar of fruit for breakfast with table food, like a waffle, toast sticks or cereal. Then he eats a jar of veggies for dinner and some table food. We've introduced him to tortellini which he seems to enjoy. As the next month goes by I'm planning to start having him eat food around lunch time since soon he'll be eating regular meals like all of us.

As for Luke's sleeping patterns he tends to go to bed pretty early, usually by 7-7:30pm (sometimes even earlier). Since he goes to bed early unfortunately it means he tends to be an earlier riser, often up before Kerry gets to our house (which is 6:20am). Sometimes he'll sleep to 7am or a little past. He still takes two naps a day, one in the morning and one after lunch time. Most nights he sleeps pretty well but he's had a cold this past week so he's been up more in the middle of the night.

He continues to love playing with his big brother, who is pretty good with him, at least most of the time. We still have to remind Cole that just because Luke is laughing doesn't mean he should be playing with him certain ways, like laying on top of him.

Luke still is a very relaxed, happy baby who usually has a big smile on his face. The only time he is not happy is when he's tired or hungry or just needs a little bit attention from his Mom or Dad. Can't wait to see what the next month brings for my sweet little guy!
