First Soccer Game of the Season

Cole had his first soccer game of the season today! His team is involved in a tournament and today was their first game. Cole has the same coach as last year and Matthew is helping as an assistant coach, as is another Dad who helped last year as well. Most of the boys are the same as last year so it is nice for Cole to see familiar faces. One of the little boys was on the swim team with Cole this summer. 
The game started off with the other team scoring four goals. The Assumption boys (Cole's team) attempted a few but missed. My first thought was, oh no, it's going to be just like last year (the poor boys didn't win any games and didn't score too many goals either).

Then, their luck started to turn with Cole SCORING his team's first goal of the season!! He was so excited, you could see it in his face. After Cole's goal several other boys on his team were able to score as well. His team had their first win!! They won with a score of 7 goals and the other team had 6. Cole helped assist another boy in the winning goal!

Needless to say the parents were all pretty excited as the boys did so well at their first game! They are definietly off to a good start this year! They advance to the next round next weekend.
