There were several stations of activities for the kids to do during the party. At one area they filled plastic Christmas trees with colored sand using a funnel. Almost as soon as Cole was done filling his he shook it so all the colors blended together. His teacher was at a station where she painted the kids hands and cheeks. Cole got a Christmas tree on his hand and Rudolph on his cheek.
There was a spot where they could deocrate antelers and one where they could make a small candy cane by putting beads on a pipe cleaner. Cole put a few beads on his and decided he was done, so I finished the rest. Cole got to make two bags of reindeer food to sprinkle on the ground for Christmas Eve and play a ring toss game.
They also had a snack station with cookies, fruit and pretzels.
Every students was asked to bring a wrapped book for a book exchange. Cole picked out a big hard back Curious George book. All of the kids sat down on their spots on the carpet and were given their book. Then when the music started they were supposed to pass their books around the circle. It was funny to watch because there were several traffic jams as the music played. Some students had three books on their laps at one time. When the music stopped, after a bit of shifting since some kids had severl books on their laps, the kids got to open their books. Cole got a cute farm book. Only one little girl was upset with what she got but I thought that only one was pretty good. Now Cole is home with me while I am on Winter Break. He will go back to preschool after the 1st of the year.
