Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas

The ship was amazing! It has over 5,000 guests on it plus around 2,000 staff members. There was so much on board that you often forgot that you were on a ship in the middle of the ocean!

Our rooms were on the 11th floor and we were at the back half of the ship. We had two connecting rooms that had balconys with ocean views. Some of the balcony views looked out on to the boardwalk area or the Central Park area. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning, open the curtains and look out onto the ocean or the city were were in port for that day.

There were many pools on the ship including a very cool kids pool area. I was a little upset with the policy for the pools because Luke could only go in a very small area since he was not potty trained. Any kids that wasn't toliet trained was confined to a small area within the kids pool area. I was none too pleased with this policy and we didn't spend too much time at the pool area with Luke.

There were many other amazing areas on the ship. There were three main areas: the boardwalk, Central Park and the promenade. The Central Park area looked like Central Park - lots of plants and greens. It was open air and had several sitting places in this area. It was lined with resturants and a few shops. Matt and I dined at one of the resturants, Chops Grille, the second night on the ship (just the two of us!).

The boardwalk was another open air part of the ship and was at the back end of the boat. At the very back part was an amazing Aqua Theater and they had several amazing shows! There was also two rock climbing walls and zip line areas. When you first walked onto the boardwalk there was a carousel that you could ride for free. The boys loved it! There were a few shops and food places (including a free doughnut area with very yummy doughnuts!!).

The promenade was an indoor area that was two levels. It contained several shops and eating areas. You could get pizza at Sorrento's pizza until 3am! You could also get sandwiches and cookies, breads, and other desserts at a few places in this area any time! I think my main activity on vacation was eating :)

We had dinner every night in the main dining room with most family members. The boys went to their clubs every night except for the first night so we were able to eat kids free! Dinner each night lasted about 2 hours and was three courses. Yum!
