Out and About Fun on the Cruise

The cruise stopped in three cities - Naussau, Bahamas, St. Thomas and the Dutch side of St. Maarten. I would have to say that each stop was more beautiful than the last. We did not do any excursions at any stop (Matt was scheduled to go parasailing but it got canceled due to weather).

First stop, the Bahamas. We were only docked here until about 2pm so we set out in the morning to venture off the boat. We started with both boys with us but then Cole ended up going to his club to play with Alexis. So, Matt, Luke and I headed out with some of my family members. It was pretty hot that day (July 18). Luke did some shopping with us for a little bit before him and Matt headed back to the boat since it was getting to hot. I stayed a did a little more shopping (my favorite activity!)

The second stop of the cruise was St. Thomas. It was so beautiful when we opened up our curtains and looked out our balcony and there we were. The weather was not the best on this day (July 20). It did prove to be great weather for going out shopping since the rain held off until later that day. So it was a bit overcast and not too hot. Matt stayed on the ship in the morning with the boys while I went shopping with family members. We were planning on going to the beach after lunch, were all ready to go and when we got down to leave the ship it was pouring rain. So, we decided to skip the beach in St. Thomas and hope for better weather in St. Maarten. Cole and Matt did venture off the boat so that they could say they'd been to St. Thomas. It was still raining but Matt said Cole didn't seem to mind. There were some big rocks that had tons of Iguanas on it that they went to look at.

Our last stop on the cruise was the Dutch side of St. Maarten - a beautiful island and by far my favorite!

Once again, I was off for a bit of shopping in the morning with family members. We all came back on the boat for lunch and went back out to go to the beach with Matt and the boys. We were joined by Kerry, my Dad and Aunt Lucy as well as Uncle Michael, Aunt Trish, and Alexis. You could take a water taxi to get over to where the beach and shopping area was (only about 5 minute drive).



When we got to the beach both boys were thrilled to be there! Luke got his first experience with sand and playing in the ocean. My Dad and Aunt Lucy played with him for a while and he loved being in the sand! Cole spent most of his time playing in the water with Alexis. At the end all three kids were playing in the sand.
