Ella is 4 Months Old!!

 

 

My sweet baby girl is 4 months old today!  Hard to believe it has already been 4 months since our family was blessed with Ella.  She is such a wonderful, happy baby (most of the time anyway).  Ella is pretty easy going just like the boys but she is a bit more fussy than either of them were.  I feel bad saying that considering she is still a really good baby.

 

Ella is still eating 4oz. bottles at each feeding.  We've tried to move her up to 5oz. bottles a few times but she usually won't eat all of it.  Most of the times she eats every three hours but there have been several days where she will eat every 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours (which is why we've tried to increase her intake).  At her 3pm feeding today she sucked down 4oz. and then another 2oz. bottle.  This time it had been four hours between feedings since we were out running errands and she was sleeping.

 

Ella is getting much stronger when it comes to holding her up when she's on her stomach.  It is amazing how much she has improved in the last 2-3 weeks.  In the past few weeks she has really started to grab ahold of her toys when she is on her activity mat.  She makes all kinds of wonderful baby noises that just melt your heart.  She has a beautiful smile that she will flash at you quite often.  Her laugh is a beautiful sound as well.

 

Ella is a great sleeper at night although for about a week and a half we had a few issues but hopefully that has passed now.  These past few days she has slept in for me and I've gotten her up around 7/7:30am.  Her daytime napping isn't very consistent yet.  She usually takes a good solid, long nap at least once a day.  Then, the rest of the day she takes shorter naps, maybe 30 minutes to an hour.  She is currently sleeping in her swing as I type this after being up since 3pm.  You can tell when she is getting tired these days because she starts to rub her eyes.

 

Ella has her 4 month check up on Friday so I'll post her "stats" after that appointment.  When Matt weighed her this past weekend she was just over 13 pounds.  If I had to guess I would say she will weigh in around 13.5 pounds on Friday.
