Luke is One!!

My baby is officially one year's old today!! Days like today always take me down memory lane. I keep thinking about one year ago today when we met our beautiful baby boy! I remember being so happy that he was healthy and fell in love with him the moment I met him. He has brought such great joy to our family and has made the transition from a one child house hold to a two child house hold very easy - minus the adjustment to paying for two kids:)

He is now walking all over the place! It's amazing how quickly it goes from the first few steps to constant walking. He is on his feet a majority of the time when he is going somewhere. I just love watching him walk!

He is such a happy little guy!! Constant smiles come your way when you look at him. I wish I could report that he is still the great sleeper that he use to be but he has been struggling a little bit during the night. He goes down to bed pretty easily around 7pm (most nights) but this past month he has started fussing in the middle of the night. Usually getting up and putting the pacifer in his mouth and patting his back will put him right back to sleep - my wonderful husband helps out in that department most nights. This past week he has been doing much better so hopefully he is turning the corner in the sleep department. He tends to be an earlier riser and is often up between 6am-7am. Lately he has been sleeping until more like 7am.

He is completely off of baby food as of the past week or so. He pretty much stopped eating any fruits or veggies in a jar that we were feeding him so we gave up. He is a HUGE fan of any food he can pick up and eat. He loves to eat hot dogs! Anytime you eat, he wants to eat. He is now also officially done with formula - which is awesome since it is so expensive!! He had his first bottle with whole milk in it tonight!! I tried to give it to him in a sippy cup but he didn't really do too well with it. In the bottle he drank all of it. So, we figured we'd get him use to whole milk and then work on getting rid of the bottle - maybe this weekend.

We are celebrating Luke's first birthday party on Saturday and he has his one year check up on Thursday. I'll post stats after his appointment and pictures after we celebrate.

Kerry and Cole made a cake on Monday and then cupcakes today for Luke's birthday. So to celebrate tonight we gave Luke a piece of the cake with a candle. Cole informed Kerry today that he was going to have to blow out the candle because so Luke didn't get burned. So, we sang Happy Birthday and then Cole blew out the candle.

Where as Cole didn't really do much with his first cake experience Luke was the total opposite! He was all about it - very cute!
